OK Folks, We have finally got the date September 28th.
Lets make it an all day and evening event. That way you all can come and go when your schedule fits. Hows that????
Starting about 10 am to whenever!!!!! It is potluck. Picnic style. Hamburgers and hotdogs and salads.
For directions drop us a note and we can get you there. Carpooling is a plus.
Lets have fun and meet new people in the wonderful natural setting that is sooooooooo much better than a bar.
See you there.

BAKERLAKE HOTSPRINGS M&G Directions

We are planning 2 parades -- 10:00 am and 12:00 noon

This is when you can meet at our house and follow up. The best way to get there for sure.

Here are directions from I-5:

East on Cook Road exit 232. Follow Cook road to HWY 20 intersection in Sedro Woolley approx. 4 miles. Turn Left onto Hwy 20. Follow 20 to Baker Lake Road approx 17.5 miles, make a left on Bakerlake Road. (There is a sign there for Snowmobile Park and the Baker Lake sign) If you get to Birdsview Burger and Grandy Creek Grocery you have gone too far.
Stay on this road to Fireroad 1130. Before you get to this road you will come across road construction in 2 places where bridges are being replaced. With the first detour make sure you stay to the left to get back to main road.. After that you will come to Bouldercreek, this is a nice bridge. 1130 will be the next left.
We will be putting up markers on the road and all the way up.
Once you make the left on 1130 you want to stay to the right every time you come to a change in the road. You will know that you are there when you find the dead end and a parking area. The trail head normally is unmarked. We will make sure you can find the trail head. You will get to walk about 1/3 mile into the hotsprings.

Cell phones do not work up there.
Byob
Potluck – please bring things to go with hamburgers and hotdogs – like salads, baked beans chips desert etc. Just ask if you have questions.
Bug spray
Towel and blanket

There's this thing called WORK...and it's a new job. Still on my probationary period. Can't risk it. You remember what a full time job is...right ???

Look on soak.net Its hard to get too if your a newbie I go up there quite a bit. There are a lot of puddles and the forestry service never repairs the roads.

Hope this is helpful.

If you go remember to bring a shovel.. one year the spring had a mudslide its nice to help out. The hoh Rainforest on the peninsula is a bit nicer. So is Harrison Hot springs in Canada.

Thanks for your input mause....was up there a couple weeks ago and the newer redone road has a few potholes, but nothing major. The detours on the main road are alittle rough right now.
A shovel would be fun, digging out the pools is good fun, you never know what you will find.
One year we took the chain saw, and needed it, but that was the old road up there.

Dont forget fresh water in a five gallon jug to wash off with. One thing people always forget. Are they still working on the bridge? I went up there fishing and they had the road tore apart still. Bringing in dump truck after dump truck. I am afraid of bringing a chainsaw. Rain into two guys on a horse where they where ticketed for improper parking. And their chainsaw was taken.

I have talked to the parks department and this parking area does not need a parking permit. Basically because the hotsprings are not kept up by the the parks department. Plus it is not posted.
There is still construction going on and that is why I put that in the directions to make it easier to get there.
If you don't lock up a chainsaw, yes it will go away, So on that note, leave your valuables at home.
Plus there is a nice little fresh water creek right next to the hot springs to wash off in.

WOW!!!! WHAT A FUN DAY AT THE HOTSPRINGS!!!
Those of you that missed it, you really missed it. It did shower at first, but after we got a tarp up and a fire going, it cleared up. The water was nice and warm. Gene was a super cook. Got to meet some new people and visit with old friends. Out in the great wonderful woods. Duke our favorite big dog had a wonderful time and was very well behaved. (For Duke that is) He also tested the water quite a few times.
very relaxed B & B
